Gulf Bike Expo

Dubai has the ideal weather and terrain for motorcycle fun. In light of this, the Gulf Bike Expo in Dubai's Festival City offers three days of exhibits, barbecues, music, shows and organised rides, all dedicated to motorcycles and their owners.

Sunny Dubai's wide roads and desert tracks cater to street bikes, scooters, dirt bikes and even quad bikes, which are just some of the vehicles featured at this expo. The biggest, baddest, newest and fastest motorbikes are on display, as well as clothing, helmets, parts, garage equipment and even insurance deals.

It's not all about shopping for the latest bikes however - Festival City also provides a barbecue pit for a quick refuel and live music while you munch, along with stunt riding shows, motorcycle fashion shows and competitions.

Overall, ten instead of the previous eight races will be flown in four continents before November.

A New System In order to make the races even more exciting and spectacular for the spectators there is also a rule change in 2007, The races will now have an elimination format.

The twelve fastest pilots will be determined in the qualifying round the day before the race,

The fastest in each duel makes it to the semi-final, the two remaining unbeaten pilots will then confront each other in their fourth flight of the day.

Three Rookies Also new in 2007 is the number of participating pilots: For the first time there will be fourteen instead of eleven aerobatic pilots, six pilots fought for the new cockpit positions in October 2006 in the Arizona desert.
